As Vice President of Legal and Compliance, Melissa oversees Constellis’ defense in all litigation and administrative matters in the United States and abroad, as well as the company’s global compliance program.
Her duties include providing strategic counseling and training to organizational leaders and employees on regulatory and contractual requirements; spearheading the organization’s global compliance program, including its compliance with the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers; and leading the Constellis’ internal risk assessments, investigations, employee relations matters and corporate governance. In addition, Melissa serves as the company’s primary labor and employment attorney.
Prior to joining Constellis, Melissa was a partner at McGuirewoods, LLP, where she specialized in the litigation of employment discrimination claims, FLSA collective actions, and business torts. Melissa was responsible for the oversight of cases from inception through disposition, including administrative hearings, pre-trial motions, discovery, dispositive motions, and trials.
Melissa holds a Juris Doctor degree (cum laude) from George Mason University School of Law, a Master of Education (with honors) from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Arts (with honors) from Stanford University.
