HANDGUN ONE TRAINING
Handgun 1 (Basic Handgun)
This is a 2-Day course is for the individual who is unfamiliar with firearms procedures or who needs to develop safe firearm-handling skills and a solid foundation of basic shooting skills. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of shooting and how they apply to accuracy. Through demonstration and practice, participants will learn the movement for drawing the firearm from the holster to presentation. Students will also learn how to identify types of malfunctions and take the logical steps to efficiently correct them.

HOME DEFENSE TRAINING
About This Course
This course will inform the concerned citizen on methods of protecting their home and family. Students will receive classroom instruction and will engage in shoot/no-shoot, force-on-force realistic scenarios based on actual events that have occurred, and where their decision-making process will be explored and tested. This is not a basic firearms course, but a course that provides training for the time when use of a firearm becomes the only option.

The course is designed to make students more aware of personal security whether at home or away, and increase awareness of considerations in protecting self and family members.

Method of instruction
This course is taught using 25 percent classroom lecture and 75 percent practical instruction.
Skill Prerequisites
Basic pistol marksmanship/familiarization course. This is not a marksmanship course. Handling skills are required prior to attending class.
HANDGUN ONE TRAINING
Handgun ONE provides a solid foundation of pistol-shooting skills. This course is designed for shooters with little to no previous experience with the handgun. It covers gun safety, marksmanship fundamentals and core pistol manipulation.

Gear requirement
Pistol, holster, magazine pouch, 3 high-capacity magazines (15 round magazines) or 6 low-capacity magazine (10 or less round magazines), 700 rounds of ammunition, belt, wrap around ballistic eye protection, hearing protection, clothing appropriate for an outdoor range (no shorts, no open toe shoes), water bottle or hydration system.
If you do not have the required equipment/ gear, Academi can provide at an additional cost.
Method of instruction
Classroom lecture, PowerPoint presentation, practical live fire applications on the range.
