K9 security teams are the most comprehensive security available. Explosive detection, drug detection, weapons and contraband detection dog teams effectively deter and detect threatening and unlawful activity that can jeopardize large-scale events and popular venues.

Why Constellis

Proactive Planning

We excel in proactive planning that maximizes security and minimizes risk. Constellis will customize a security plan that meets the needs of your venue and/or event. Our extensive K9 security process starts before your event even begins, with the working dog teams rapidly and accurately conducting explosive detection searches throughout your venue, the surrounding perimeter, and all equipment or cargo.

Air Scenting

Canines use air scenting or odor tracking by sniffing the air within a space on moving or static personnel and objects to identify detectable odors within the space. When used in this manner, canines are not searching people or objects, they are searching the air or air molecules. This scenting process can be used within indoor or outdoor spaces. If there is a detectable explosive odor, the canine will move to the source of that odor. Once the odor source has been identified, the canine will show a change of behavior and track the odor to the source. The canine will then respond with a passive “Sit” or “Down”.

Active Patrol and Detection

During your event, our bomb dogs and K9 handlers provide explosive detection, active patrol, and strategic stationary point security. As your event concludes, K9 detection teams reinforce security measures and crowd control, facilitating a smooth transition and seamless success.

Experienced Teams

Constellis’ comprehensive security programs utilize highly experienced and skilled contract working dog teams. Because we are committed to excellence in every mission, you can expect an elevated level of professionalism and consistent services that exceed expectations and, more importantly, maintain a safe and secure environment.

Established Operational Infrastructure

Beyond the ability to provide highly qualified bomb dogs and K9 detection teams with the experience necessary to ensure a secure environment, Constellis has a fully operational infrastructure including strategic resources and proven logistical performance.

Our Approach

Constellis understands the unique challenges for our customers. With more than 15 years of experience working in high-threat areas domestically and abroad to seamlessly integrate and provide cutting edge EDD techniques, our dedicated K9 teams will work in conjunction with your security to create a new industry standard.

Commitment to Excellence

The canine will primarily utilize air scenting or odor tracking when searching by sniffing the air within the space on moving or static personnel and objects to identify any detectable odors within the particular space. Once the canines is close to the source the canine will respond with a passive “Sit” or “Down”.

Our requirement for high standards means we only accept handlers with a minimum of two years of experience as K9 handlers working a single or dual-purpose dog in either the military or law enforcement. All Constellis K9 teams are certified by an objective third-party industry recognized certification authority which helps ensure the teams are highly skilled for the detection operations.

Certification Requirements

All canine teams are certified to the IPWDA or NAPWDA standard prior to the start of services. Certification ensures that the K9s can perform their assigned duties and accurately detect explosives threats. Our EDD K9s are trained and certified on over 33 explosive scents. Due to the increased popularity of improvised explosives, nitrated and peroxide-based explosives (TATP and HMTD) used by terrorist elements worldwide, the current testing standard includes peroxide-based and nitrated explosives.

All certifications are conducted by an IPWDA or NAPWDA Third-Party Certification Authority and will be administered during the last week of the EDD course.

The teams undergo annual recertification in accordance with the NAPWDA or IPWDA standards.
